Your capacity to change and grow
Person-centred therapy is the starting point in my work with my clients. It comes from understanding the human potential for self-healing and the healing power of self-expression. The environment we create together gives you confidence to see yourself as someone who can make a difference in your own life. Success in counselling is in the quality of the relationship between client and counsellor. It is the healing quality of the relationship that leads to new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.
As a counsellor it is a privilege to work with many people. I have worked with children, adolescents and families, but over recent years predominantly:
- Women (counselling for relationships, stress, family, life transitions, anxiety, depression, identity, retirement, parenting, addictions)
- Men (counselling for anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationships, work issues, addictions)
- Gay and Lesbian (counselling for anxiety, stress, depression, identity, relationships, work issues, addictions
- Couples (counselling for anxiety, stress, depression, relationships, work issues, parenting, family, life transitions)
My clients come from a diverse range of ethnicities.
Our sessions are places for you to be seen and heard in a caring, accepting way that honours where you are at, where you would like to be, and acknowledge the healing space between.
“Paula has been the most effective therapist I have ever engaged with. She has a great wealth of experience and academic knowledge and a very caring nature. She is very good at knowing when to listen and when to provide insights and was invaluable in helping me work through my issues. Thank you Paula”
